On Monday 28 November 2022 it was announced that His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Mgr. Philip Moger as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Southwark. A priest of the Diocese of Leeds for 40 years, Bishop Elect Moger has, until now, been the Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk.
On Friday 25th November 2022, the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre hosted a Vigil Mass, and subsequently an Investiture Service and Holy Mass, in St George's Cathedral, during which new members of the Order were welcomed. Canon Michael had the honour of receiving a promotion to Knight Commander of the Holy Sepulchre bestowed upon him by the Grand Master of the Order, His Eminence Cardinal Filoni of Rome. (See online newsletter for further details).
Congratulations for a wonderful and very prayerful act of worship, you sung really well and it was good to see so many parents and grandparents present.
Sign-up sheets are available in the outer Sacristy for Readers, Eucharistic Ministers and Altar Servers to put their name down for Masses over Christmas and New Year. Masses will be as follows:

Once again we are able to visit St. Helier Hospital on 8th Dec from 7:00pm to sing carols around some of the wards accompanied by Fr. Philip Pak, the hospital chaplain. All are welcome, though please be prepared to wear masks and follow precautions as instructed by the hospital. We will meet at the hospital main foyer at 6:45pm to allow for coats, belongings etc to be left at the chaplaincy office before we visit the wards. This is one of the most touching actions in our calendar year, which we resume again after Covid restrictions having done this as a parish music group for the past 35 years.
